I create furniture with forms that are functional but do not always appear so. Seeking to understand and fully control the various materials that I experiment with, I push them to their physical limits. This perceived frailty creates a sense of both tension and interest. One approaches my work with a degree of apprehension: wanting to engage and explore, but afraid that to do so would bring about destruction. Attempting to bridge the gap between craft and design, I combine traditional craftsmanship with state of the art technology like 3D computer modeling and laser cutting. Meticulous in almost all aspects of life, I strive for clean lines within my work. The overall form is what's important, and every aspect is intentional.
